FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Is the wrap easy to remove?

Yes, it is best to remove the wrap slowly and carefully insuring the fabric stays fused to the adhesive and that the adhesive comes off the optic or accessory along with the fabric.

2. Will the wrap leave any residue upon removal?

Provided the wrap is removed slowly and carefully, there should not be any remaining adhesive residue. In the event there remains any adhesive residue, it can be easily rubbed off. There should be no need to use any liquid, solvent, or chemical agent to remove the adhesive residue.

3. Is the wrap reusable once applied?

If the wrap is removed carefully and the fabric and adhesive remains fused together, the wrap can be reused/reapplied. If the fabric separates from the adhesive, and/or the adhesive remains on the optic, the wrap cannot be reused/reapplied.

3M™ VHB (Very High Bond) Adhesive Specs:
Environmental Performance Humidity Resistance: High humidity has minimal effect on adhesive performance. No significant reduction in bond strength is observed after exposure for seven days at 90°F (32°C) and 90% relative humidity.
UV Resistance: When properly applied, parts are not adversely affected by exposure to direct sunlight.
Water Resistance: Immersion in water has no appreciable effect on the bond strength. After 100 hours at room temperature, the high bond strength is maintained.
Temperature Cycling Resistance: High bond strength is maintained after cycling four times through: 4 hours at 158°F (70°C) 4 hours at -20°F (-29°C) 4 hours at 73°F (22°C)
Chemical Resistance: When properly applied, parts will hold securely after exposure to numerous chemicals including oil, mild acids and alkalis.
